The CalFauna Foundation
Building a Better Future for Native CaliforniaWildlife
Our Research Grant Proposals
In 2017, CalFauna was awarded a research/outreach grant to delve into potential environmental conflicts of illegal cannabis grows with native CA wildlife species - most notable our resident deer herds. A professional white paper and two YouTube videos will be produced for public consumption. The focus will be to inform county governments of the potential ramifications of cannabis ordinances on our state's wildlife. Considering that cannabis has become a huge agricultural commodity after the legalization by CA voters in 2017. This project is very important for conservationists and county officials across the state. This project will cover 37 of the 58 counties in California.
